Associate Adjuster

Position Summary

As an Associate Adjuster, you will play a critical role in investigating claims, determining liability, confirming coverage, determining the value of damages, and resolving claims which may include paying, settling or denying claims. Claims adjusters play an important customer service role in explaining policy coverage and serving as the primary point of contact for insureds throughout the claims process. This role will focus primarily on auto adjusting but will be provided cross training to support property adjusting as needed.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Communicating effectively with policyholders, claimants, agents and other departments.
  • Analyzing and applying insurance policy language to determine eligibility and claims processing.
  • Investigating, evaluating and settling insurance claims in compliance with RAM’s claim handling guidelines.
  • Maintaining appropriate, accurate and detailed claims records.
  • Evaluating damages and making decisions regarding the repair process.
  • Ensuring claim payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.

Required Qualifications

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to meet established deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal skills to develop productive relationships and provide exceptional customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills in order to handle multiple and varied claims tasks
  • Strong computer skills; proficient use of Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn Company-specific computer programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education and insurance industry experience
  • Two or more years of prior Customer Service Experience, preferably including phone-based customer service
  • Prior insurance industry experience; preferable in Property &Casualty claims and/or insurance
  • Interest and ability to pursue industry education/certification(s) offered by The Institutes

Marketing Representative

Position Summary

As a Marketing Representative, you play a critical role in marketing to and maintaining RAM’s relationships with agents in North Dakota. In this position, you will prospect, engage and partner with new agents, provide technical and/or training support, and serve as the primary liaison, resource and advocate for current and prospective agents. Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and promoting the sale of RAM’s product lines through independent agencies in assigned territory.
  • Prospecting, evaluating, appointing and developing agencies in the fulfillment of growth and profit objectives.
  • Providing technical and training support, and acting as an agents’ advocate and problem solver.
  • Performing Commercial, Personal Lines, and Farm underwriting inspections, as needed.
  • Providing market and industry intelligence.
  • Serving as a resource to internal department and partnering agencies.
  • Representing RAM at industry conferences and seminars.

Position Requirements

  • BS/BA degree, preferably in business, marketing, insurance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years multi-line P/C insurance experience with a background in marketing, underwriting, or agency; Farm/Ag experience preferred.
  • Strong working background of independent agent system.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Great organizational, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, detailed, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must have availability for some overnight travel.
  • Must be located within assigned territory.
